I have been where you are my friend and I have had some trouble sleeping aand lacked the energy to do much. I too was on medications that had side effects.

I found if helpful to keep a daily journal listing the things that triggered the different symptons that made it impossible for me to function in the normal daily tasks.

I also found it useful to keep my mind busy, there are several free courses on line. This way you keep your mind off the pain etc and focus on something else. You also haver a chance to chat with other people on line that are in similar situations.

Due to my arthritis I cannot do too much physical work, I do however, try to take a little walk at a pace I am comfortable with for about twenty minutes a day.
After I had done this for a while I found myself feeling better.

I also have a friend that has been fighting fybromialgia for quite a few years. She agrees with me that the important thing is to listen to your body, when it says rest - rest! At all times focus on the good things in life. It really does help.
Good luck my friend - keep in touch.
